Like the liquid rust activator act-COR, this gel-based product is designed to activate rusting on metal and Corten steel surfaces. The gel is green and quite thick in texture, which makes coating the surface easier. This product is highly recommended for covering vertical surfaces – ceilings, walls, steep surfaces and generally hard-to-reach places – because the applied gel does not run off and stays where you want the rust effect.
This product can also be used to “harden” products and create texture on the surface. When applying additional layers, they stick to each other, so the product needs a longer drying time than usual. To achieve a greater rust effect, the gel can be applied with a spatula, roller or brush. This makes it easy to create unique finishes and patterns. With this gel it is also possible to restore previously rusted surfaces, giving them a lighter tone. With act-COR gel it is possible to achieve the desired orange colour (primary oxidation colour), which is usually very difficult to achieve due to factors such as humidity, unremoved scale, sheet thickness, etc., even after using the liquid act-COR activator.
Another special feature of this product is that much less greasy rust layer forms on the surface than on surfaces treated with act-COR liquid. Even if the gel is left unfixed with bp-COR, the product is less greasy.
VERY IMPORTANT: the storage and use temperature of this product is 10–25 °C. Outside this range the product may become liquid. Read the technical description carefully to ensure correct and safe use of the product.
